The largest hula hoop spun (male) is 5.40 m (17 ft 8 in) in diameter, and was achieved by Yuya Yamada (Japan) in Yokohama, Kanagawa, Japan, on 19 February 2019.
The attempt took place outside and although the weather was cloudy, cold, sometimes slightly raining, Yuya Yamada managed to spin three consecutive qualifying revolutions on the first attempt.
