The heaviest marrow (Cucurbita pepo) weighed 116.4 kg (256 lb 9.8 oz) and was grown by Vincent Sjodin (UK) for entry in the CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championships, held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, Worcestershire, UK, on 23 September 2021.
The massive marrow measured 157 cm (5 ft 1.8 in) in length and 60 cm (1 ft 11.6 in) in width, and beat the previous record by 22.7 kg (50 lb). Sjodin, from Barry Island in South Wales, UK, attributes his success to the use of fish guts and heads in his compost. The weight was confirmed by head judge Martyn Davis of the UK National Vegetable Society.
