Browser gamers have taken to pet simulation in a big way. The most recent success story is kids’ site Moshi Monsters, which announced in June 2011 that it had exceeded 50 million registered user accounts. That works out at an average of 43,029 users joining every single day – enough to fill 103 Jumbo Jets. Moshi Monsters has been particularly successful in the UK, where over half of all children aged between six and 12 have logged on and adopted a colourful creature.
