The most people colouring/dyeing hair is 422 and was achieved by L’Oréal Professionnel India in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India on 17 September 2025.

The main idea behind attempting the record by L’Oréal Professionnel was to showcase their range of hair products essentially hair dyes and colours. The event also brought together more than 400 talented hairdressers under one roof for record setting hair colour transformations. The hairstylists who participated in the attempt had undergone curated and exclusive technical and digital upskilling training over the last few months. Only the most talented of the stylists were selected to take part in the attempt.
