As of 22 January 2026, Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters (USA, 2025) is the most watched film of all time on the streaming service, with more than 540 million views worldwide since its premiere on 20 June 2025. Remarkably, it had stayed on Netflix’s Top 10 movie listings for 31 weeks, as of the same date.

The animated movie follows the adventures of K-pop superstars Rumi, Mira and Zoey (aka HUNTR/X), and their secret battles against supernatural threats. When a demon boy band rises to fame, the trio are forced to balance global stardom with saving their fans, using music-powered abilities to battle dark forces and protect the world.

Fans also converged on selected cinemas in the USA and abroad for special sing-along version of the movie on 23–24 August and 31 October–2 November 2025.

The film's lead song, "Golden" – performed by real-life K-pop singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami is also breaking records. Both “Golden” and the song "APT.", by BLACKPINK's Rosé dueting with Bruno Mars, became the first K-pop songs to be shortlisted at the Grammy's for the prestigious "Song of the Year" award on 7 November 2025, alongside the likes of Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar, ahead of the 68th Grammy Awards on 1 February 2026.
