The self-titled debut album by Westlife (Ireland) produced five No.1 hits on the UK Official Singles Chart: “Swear It Again” (1999), “If I Let You Go” (1999), “Flying Without Wings” (1999), double A-side “I Have a Dream”/“Seasons in the Sun” (1999–2000) and “Fool Again” (2000). The deluxe edition of Jess Glynne’s (UK) debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, also featured five No.1s: “Rather Be” (2014; Clean Bandit feat. Jess Glynne), “My Love” (2014; Route 94 feat. Jess Glynne), “Hold My Hand” (2015), “Not Letting Go” (2015; Tinie Tempah feat. Jess Glynne) and “Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself” (2015).
Westlife’s chart-toppers were the first five UK singles for a group who achieved a record-setting seven consecutive No.1s from debut. Ironically, the album peaked at No.2.
Glynne has scored more UK No.1 singles – seven – than any other British female solo artist. Her sixth and seventh chart-toppers arrived in 2018: “These Days” (Rudimental feat. Jess Glynne, Macklemore & Dan Caplen) and “I’ll Be There”.
