Fastest Fastnet swim (male)

The fastest swim by a male between Baltimore and Fastnet Rock Lighthouse in Cork, Ireland, is 4 hours 36 minutes, achieved by Brian Foster (Ireland) on 12 August 2025, as verified by the Irish Long Distance Swimming Association.

This surpassed the previous record of 4 hours 54 minutes 16 seconds, achieved by Michael Payne (Australia) on 11 June 2025.

As part of the same attempt, 17-year-old Foster also set records for the fastest two-way Fastnet swim (10 hours 8 minutes 37 seconds) and three-way Fastnet swim (15 hours 48 minutes 36 seconds); he is the first person to complete a continuous three-way swim of this 20.5-km (12.7-mi) route. The marathon sea swim was piloted by Kieran Collins on board the vessel Radiance.
