The tallest stack of Welsh cakes in one minute (II2) (IS1) is 17 and was achieved by Michael Beynon (UK) in Oswestry, UK, on 28 February 2025.

Michael is a Mencap Myth Buster and took on this record-breaking challenge to show people with learning disabilities that they can achieve extraordinary things if they try.

As a proud Welshman he also wanted to promote and show his culture to the wider community. He loves to bake and eat Welsh Cake, so felt it was fitting for to do a Welsh cake challenge. The attempt was held during Welsh Culture evening at the Prospect Club in Oswestry, and afterwards all the cakes were enjoyed by the audience with some tea.

He has previously achieved a record for the farthest distance covered on foot in one week (II2) (IS1).
