Madonna (USA, b. Madonna Ciccone) has scored 50 No.1 hits on Billboard’s (currently suspended) Dance Club Songs chart, from “Holiday”/“Lucky Star” in 1983 to “I Don’t Search I Find” in 2020. She was the first act to achieve 50 No.1s on a single Billboard chart since the magazine published its first countdown based purely on record sales – “National Best Selling Retail Records” – in the issue dated 27 July 1940.
The “Queen of Pop” has reached No.1 on Dance Club Songs in 28 separate calendar years since 1983, including nine (1987–95) and 10 (1997–2006) years consecutively at the height of her popularity.
