Four players have scored two hat-tricks in World Cup tournaments: Sandor Kocsis (Hungary) at the 1954 tournament in Switzerland; Just Fontaine (France) in Sweden in 1958; Gerd Müller (West Germany) at the 1970 tournament in Mexico; and Gabriel Batistuta (Argentina) in his World Cup debut against Greece in the USA in 1994 and against Jamaica in France in 1998.
Gabriel Batistuta is the only player in ever to have scored hat-tricks in two different world cups.
