The oldest TV director (male) is 90 years 297 days old, and was achieved by Chalong Pakdeevijit (Thailand, b. 15 April 1932) in Bangkok, Thailand, as verified on 6 February 2023.
Chalong began his career as a cameraman in 1950 and had his directorial debut with a film in 1968 called 'Jao Insee'. Then in 1998, he directed his first TV show called 'Raya' which was shown on the popular Thai television channel 'Channel 7' and he hasn't stopped since.
With a career spanning over 70 years, Chalong has created, produced and directed over a total of 60 movies and TV shows.
