Longest gourd plant

The longest gourd plant (family: Cucurbitaceae) is 20.13 m (66 ft) and was grown by Ian Neale (UK) in Newport, Gwent, UK, as verified on 19 October 2024.

Veteran competitive produce grower Neale has been growing supersized fruit and vegetables in South Wales for more than three decades. In 2024, he also claimed the record for the heaviest bell pepper (Capsicum annuum) with a 966-g (2-lb 2.8-oz) green pepper ratified at the UK National Giant Vegetable Championships held at the Malvern Autumn Show in Worcestershire, UK, on 27–29 September 2024.
