The first snooker player to make 1,000 centuries in professional competition is Ronnie O’Sullivan (UK), between 20 June 1992 and 10 March 2019.

O’Sullivan reached the 1,000-century milestone with a 134 break in the final frame of his 10–4 victory over Neil Robertson in the final of the Coral Players Championships at the Preston Guild Hall in Lancashire, UK, on 10 March 2019.

O'Sullivan scored his first snooker century (117) at the age of 10 and his first maximum 147 break at the age of 15, a year before he turned professional. He compiled his first century as a professional in his first match, scoring 115 against Jason Scott during a 5–2 victory during qualifying for the UK Championship at the Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool, Lancashire, UK.

Fifteen of O’Sullivan’s 1,000 centuries have been maximum 147 breaks, which is also a record. This includes the fastest maximum, timed at 5 minutes 8 seconds against Mick Price at the 1997 World Snooker Championship.
