The largest oud measures 3.85 m (12 ft 7 in) long, 2 m (6 ft 6 in) wide and 1 m (3 ft 3 in) in depth, and was created by Mohammed Fadil (Iraq) at the Dubai Shopping Festival in Dubai, UAE, on 27 March 2002.
The instrument, which has five double strings, was played by musician Ali Hassan (Iraq) at the Festival. It took 30 days of intense work to produce the instrument, which was made in the traditional way.
