According to The-Numbers.com, the highest-grossing animated movie with an original screenplay is Incredibles 2 (USA, 2018), which had grossed $1,242,532,436 (£937,227,000) at the worldwide box office as of 15 March 2019. The superhero sequel is the second-highest-grossing animated movie of all time, behind Frozen (USA, 2019), which is based on the fairytale "The Snow Queen" by the Danish author Hans Christian Andersen.
The animated sequel is the sixth-highest-grossing movie of all time with an original script – a list topped by James Cameron's Avatar (USA, 2009).
