Readers of Your Computer's June 1982 issue were in for a treat when the UK magazine's publishers decided to cover-mount a flexible disc containing the game Othello. Designed to be played on a normal phonograph turntable, such a vinyl disc had been included in magazines previously (such as Interface Age from May 1977) but for more serious purposes. The vinyl format was also used in the 1970s for gaming: for instance, titles such as Mastermind appeared on a vinyl release for the Elektor TV Games Computer in 1978.
