On the weekend of 4–5 November 2017, eSports teams from South Korea won world championship titles in three major videogames. First, Samsung Galaxy won the League of Legends World Championship, defeating fellow countrymen SK Telecom T1 in the final – the first time that the latter had ever lost at Worlds. Then the South Korean national side successfully defended their Overwatch world title against Canada in the shooter's 2017 World Cup Finals. Finally, South Korean team MVP Black beat Fnatic in the MOBA Heroes of the Storm in the Global Circuit Championship finals.
