The most goals scored in the indoor football FIFA Futsal World Championships tournaments by an individual is 48 by Alessandro Rosa Vieira (Brazil), better known as Falcão, playing for Brazil from 18 November 2000 to 21 September 2016.

Falcão is widely regarded as the greatest Futsal player ever: he won the Futsal World Cup twice and was runner-up once. In what turned out to be his final game, a penalty shoot-out defeat to Iran in the Last 16, he scored a hat-trick to take his tally to 10 goals for the 2016 tournament.
