Deepest dive using an atmospheric diving suit

On 1 August 2006, Chief Navy Diver Daniel Jackson of the US Navy submerged 2,000 ft off the coast of La Jolla California, USA. He had been randomly selected to test the Navy’s latest atmospheric diving suit (ADS), the Hardsuit 2000, which was designed to be used in submarine rescue scenarios. Its robust design protects users from marine life and dangerous environments and includes the ability to walk on the sea bed, although its dual-plane propellers provide most of its propulsion.
