Most crowdfunded social robot

In 2014, a crowdfunding venture was launched on funding platform Indiegogo to launch production of family robot "Jibo". When the campaign was launched in July, it saw huge interest, with funding quickly soaring past the initial goal of $100,000 in less than four hours. The final total of crowdfunding money raised was $3,714,505 (£2,415,985), with 7,422 total supporters. Jibo is a social robot that can recognize owners' faces, read e-mails, interact and generally perform social-media interaction via voice commands and apps. Jibo also has the capability to identify its owner's moods by recognizing smiles and frowns and can interact using a series of complex AI routines. Jibo is approximately 11 inches (28 cm) tall and weighs 6 lb (2.7 kg).
