As a child, Phil was always entertained by dot-to-dot puzzles, but remembers thinking that they weren't challenging enough for him. He was then asked by World 50 to create a large work of art. The final image depicts a Native American head, which was drawn by hand, using 53 unique symbols, 529 of which are numbered. Phil had to create this symbol system in order to take up less space.
