Largest Lavani dance (single venue)

The largest Lavani dance consists of 2,432 participants and was achieved by Uttkrusta Mahila Bahuuddeshiy Sanstha and Somayya Group Of Institutions (both India), in Chandrapur, India, on 1 March 2026.

Lavani dance is traditional folk dance form from Western India, originating from the state of Maharashtra. The dance is performed to the beats of Dholak (Dholki) drum.

The dancers in the attempt were all female and their ages ranged from 8 to 55. There were mother-daughter pairs, sisters pair, and even a 3 generation (grandmother, daughter, granddaughter) trio participating in the attempt.
