On 12 October 2014, twins Bob and Mike Bryan (USA) became the first doubles team (and only the second and third players overall after Canada's Daniel Nestor) to achieve a "Career Golden Masters" - i.e., winning at least one title at all nine current ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events. The Bryans won their first Masters 1000 tournament in Toronto, Canada, in 2002, and completed the set at China's Shanghai Masters in 2014. In the pecking order of world tennis, the nine ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events (known as the ATP Masters Series until 2009) are considered below only the four Grand Slam tournaments (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open) and the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals in terms of their importance.

The current ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournaments, and the years in which the Bryans won each event (31 titles in all), are as follows:

Indian Wells Masters (2013 & 2014) - 2 titles

Miami Masters (2007-08 & 2014) - 3 titles

Monte Carlo Masters (2007, 2011-12 & 2014) - 4 titles

Madrid Masters (2006-07, 2010-11 & 2013) - 5 titles

Rome Masters (2008, 2010 & 2013) - 3 titles

Canada Masters (2002, 2006, 2010 & 2012) - 4 titles

Cincinnati Masters (2003, 2008, 2010 & 2013-14) - 5 titles

Shanghai Masters (2014) - 1 title

Paris Masters (2005, 2007 & 2013-14) - 4 titles

In 2007, the Bryans also won the Hamburg Masters 1000 tournament - an event that no longer exists on the ATP World Tour calendar. The last Hamburg Masters event took place in 2008, after which it was replaced by the Shanghai Masters.

The Bryans' first Masters 1000 title was in Canada in 2002, when they beat Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 at the National Tennis Centre in Toronto on 4 August. Twelve years later, they completed the full set of nine current Masters 1000 events at the sixth staging of the Shanghai Masters, defeating Julien Benneteau and Edouard Roger-Vasselin 6-3, 7-6 at the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena on 12 October 2014.

The Masters 1000 circuit began in 1970, with doubles events in eight different cities: Los Angeles, Monte Carlo, Rome, London, Boston, Stockholm, Philadelphia and Sydney. Over the years, tournaments have also been staged in Johannesburg, Las Vegas, Washington, Hamburg, Tokyo, Forest Hills, Essen and Stuttgart. Monte Carlo and Rome are the only two events that have been staged continuously since 1970. The current nine Masters 1000 locations have been in place since Shanghai replaced Hamburg in 2009. Therefore, in the context of this record, "current" is taken to mean since 2009.

Daniel Nestor, the first doubles player to win a "Career Golden Masters", achieved the feat between 1996 and 2011, with four different partners (Mark Knowles, Sébastien Lareau, Nenad Zimonjić and Max Mirnyi).

As of 22 February 2015, the Bryans had won 104 career men's doubles titles. Their 100th title - and their 16th Grand Slam title overall - came courtesy of a straight-sets defeat of Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez at the US Open on 7 September 2014. The pair's most recent success was at the Delray Beach Open in Florida, USA, where they defeated Raven Klaasen and Leander Paes 6-4, 6-4 on 22 February 2015.

The Bryans won 10 men's doubles titles in the 2014 season. It was the fourth season (after 2007, 2010 and 2013) that the pair had won 10 titles or more in a single season. They won 11 trophies in each of those three previous seasons.

Mike Bryan has actually won 106 men's doubles titles. In 2002, he won ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) events in Nottingham, UK, with Mark Knowles and at Long Island, New York, USA, with Mahesh Bhupathi. All 104 of Bob Bryan's men's doubles titles have been achieved with his brother.

As of 2 March 2015, Bob Bryan's win-loss record in men's doubles stood at 919 wins and 278 defeats, and Mike's at 933 wins and 280 defeats. Each brother has won more than $12.4 million (£8 million) in prize money during their careers.

As of 7 September 2014, Bob and Mike Bryan had achieved at least one Grand Slam title for 10 consecutive years (2005-14). There are four Grand Slam tournaments each year, in Australia (Melbourne Park), France (Roland Garros, Paris), the UK (Wimbledon, London) and the USA (Flushing Meadows, New York). Their Grand Slam titles are: French (2003, 2013), US (2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014), Australian (2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013), Wimbledon (2006, 2011, 2013).

The Bryans were born on 29 April 1978 in Camarillo, California, USA. They turned professional in 1998 and won their first title together indoors in Memphis in 2002. Bob is a left-hander; Mike plays right-handed. Off court, they have performed concerts and charity events around the world with The Bryan Bros. Band (with Bob on keyboards and Mike on drums), and they are also celebrated for their philanthropic work, using their fame to raise millions of dollars for worthy causes.
