The youngest woman to win an Olympic freestyle skiing gold medal is Eileen Gu (China, b. USA 3 September 2003), who won the big air event aged 18 years 158 days in Beijing, China, on 8 February 2022.

Eileen Gu, aka Gu Ailing, claimed a dramatic Olympic gold medal for host nation China with her final run in the big air event, landing a double cork 1620 safety grab – a trick she had never even attempted before – to pip France’s Tess Ledeux by 0.75 points.
