Most votes for a videogame cover

More than 40 million votes were cast to choose an athlete to appear on the front of Madden NFL 25 (EA Tiburon, 2013), making this the largest ever vote to choose the cover of a videogame. A total of 60 players were in the running, and Barry Sanders was named as the winner on 15 April 2013. The winner was announced during a one-hour primetime special on SportsNation on ESPN 2.

The poll beat a similar canvas of opinion for the ice hockey game NHL 13 (EA Canada, 2012) by 15 million.
