The largest donation of saplings in 24 hours is 322,444 and was achieved by The Forest Department, Government of Assam (India), in Guwahati, Assam, India, on during 9-10 September 2023.
The donated saplings were small enough for their root systems to be transplanted to grow properly on planting. The saplings were native species to Assam, were natural, healthy and not damaged. Once the sapling donation had been received by Assam Climate Change Management Society, all the saplings were then distributed among citizens and various institutions free of charge.
